Prima Fire & Security Limited is a company based in Wakefield, Yorkshire and specialises in the Inspection and Maintenance of Fire and Watermist Suppression systems with special expertise in the maintenance of the DualMIST System. The company operates from premises close to junction 39 of the M1 and covers the whole of the UK.

Maintenance
From a report from the International Watermist Association in 2016 at BRE, it was concluded that maintenance is vital for operational availability of both sprinkler and watermist systems and when concerning just watermist systems that only companies trained and authorized by the system manufacturer can offer adequate services.
Observed Problems leading to Malfunction:
- Blocked or obstructed nozzles
- Loose pipework
- Corroded pipework
- Clogged filters
- Poor water supply and water quality
- Incorrect position of shut-off valves
- Poor housekeeping in the pump room or at section valves
For any Sprinkler or Watermist system we would recommend the minimum maintenance schedule as below:
Yearly - Automatic pump flow test - Cleaning of water tanks - Cleaning / changing pump system strainers - Test of infill to water tanks - Inspection of section valves.
3 yearly - Tank drainage, cleaning and refill - Inspection of all valves - Sample nozzle inspection (20 nozzles or 1% of installed nozzles) - Testing of pressure vessels - Pipework pressure test
